Journey of Honyaku Shuppan-sha
- 1957
- Shigeo Nagashima (a Japanese former professional baseball player) joined the Yomiuri Giants (a Japanese professional baseball team).
Honyaku Shuppan-sha started its voyage into the world of translation, offering translation of aircraft manuals and technical orders for the Japan Self-Defense Forces.
Around the same time, many Japanese companies began to form tie-ups with foreign companies and promote technological exchanges, and Honyaku Shuppan-sha became the key to open the door to their future.
- 1960
- The Ikeda Cabinet formulated the 'Income Doubling Plan'.
The principles of trade liberalisation were outlined, which subsequently accelerated international exchanges; Japanese companies were invigorated to advance overseas and introduce new technologies into Japan.
Resonating with the trend, Honyaku Shuppan-sha focused on helping businesses overcome language barriers and communication problems.

Moving along with the times, Honyaku Shuppan-sha newly set up the new OR (Operation Research) Department, stepping ahead of its rivals, to strengthen its research expertise.
